34rd Science Fiction Marathon, Jan. 16 - 17, 2009

Important Details

Free parking is ONLY available in lots 1A and 1B (see our Location map) after 4:30pm on Friday. If you arrive earlier than 4:30pm, you will have to pay for parking in the Veale Parking Tower (lot 53) at the posted rates. If you park at a location other than posted Lots 1A, 1B, or 53; we are not responsible for any parking tickets or loss of access to your vehicle. Some lots will be closing for maintenence and it is highly suggested that marathon attendees stick with the lots we suggest.

Early Arrivals

If you arrive before 5pm on Friday for the Marathon, there will be NO OFFICIAL SPACE for you to camp out. CWRU has not allocated any space to us for people who arrive early, citing the very small turnout of early arrivers in the past couple of years along with a general crunch for space on campus. We are currently in the process of evaluating alternatives, but if you intend to arrive early, please anticipate making your own arrangements.

Construction Information

The Adelbert Road Bridge is open. The Cornell Road Bridge is closed to vehicular traffic. It is the section above the railroad tracks between Murray Hill and Circle Drive. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the Cornell Road Bridge.

Admission Information

Pricing for this year's science fiction marathon will remain at $25 per person. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 16 at 6pm in the lobby of Strosacker Auditorium. No one under 18 admitted without parental supervision.

Beginning this year, we are offering $20 pre-admission to those with a Case ID, available in Nord during the week of January 12.

If you are unable to stay for the entire marathon, you may purchase tickets for movies individually. If you surrender a state or college ID to us, we will allow you to pay $3 per movie you wish to stay for. You are free to stay for more movies than you initially pay for, however you will be charged the balance before return of your ID. You may also simply purchase a wristband for the remaining balance of the marathon upon your arrival if you do not wish to surrender an ID (maximum charge of $25.)
